Googoo for Gaga...

Welllllllllllll readers, it's time again to update the Blog posting with performances and pictures...and a surprise video!

On July 21st...
In the Mood (the Bette Midler song from a few weeks ago)
Part of Your World
Like We Never Loved at All (with the hand!)
Never Been to Me
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (a tribute to my lovely Detox)

...I picked up a gorgeous dress from Diane (which I wore this week in the video you'll see below), and had my first trip to Muffin Man. Okra. So good.

And we're already caught up to this week, where I performed in two shows and a party. Tuesday I spent a good chunk of the day shopping with the Humpday Honeys. Clothing stores are danerous... I got SO MANY THINGS. But they were all cheap resale shops. We had a wonderful time! And we'll be doing it every week.

On July 28th, my usual Wednesday work night, I got to wear some of my new clothes:
Downtown
Speechless (Hair Bow debut, look below!)
Colors of the Wind
Cold Day in July
The Way of Love
There Are Worse Things I Could Do
I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine

And on Saturday night, I went out for Laisha Larue's Birthday party at the club:
I'm Going Bananas (a CUUUUTE old Madonna number)
Good Morning Baltimore (I gave Laisha my CD and asked her what she wanted me to sing. :) )
Speechless

...and then cameo'd with Speechless again in the usual Saturday night show. The pic is from the first time I did the number, and the video is from when I repeated it as my cameo--in case any of you notice that my hair is slightly different. <3

And here's a surprise video recorded by a friend, Michael Soto... when I was in the second show. Laptop users will have an advantge here...but yes, Hair Bow in action!!

P.S. See, I do lip-sync sometimes. When necessary. ;)

Let's play catch-up...

Whoo! Lots of goings-on over here. Some I can't talk about, some I WON'T talk about (don't wanna jinx it), but here's what I both can and will mention... ;) :

We're coming up on my third Wednesday now at TC's. I'm having a blast! I always think it's funny when people don't catch on that I'm singing, and even an hour or two into the show go "is she singing?". :)

My setlist that first week was really fun, because I got to work on Friday, too! Forgot to mention that. Diane Jackson was out (but is back and better than ever now), so I filled her spot on the weekend. Lots of people sang along that night, too... that's a first for me.

On Friday, July 9th, there were a lot of repeats from Wednesday, naturally:
Good Morning, Baltimore
Stars and the Moon
In the Mood (a live version of the Better Midler song, lip-synced)
Don't Cry Out Loud

And on this past Wednesday, July 14th, I did:
Cabaret
Maybe This Time
Don't Rain on My Parade
Crazy
A Wonderful Guy
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Somewhere that's Green.

And I bought a HILARIOUS/AMAZING platinum blonde wig from Diane. I'll leave you with a picture of that. Any resemblance to Paris Hilton/Donatella Versace/Playboy Bunnies/Gold-Digger Barbie/etc. are accidental but amazing.

As for the coming week, I might get to go shopping on Harwin with some of the girls from work, and I've got some good stuff planned for Wednesday. At least, I hope it goes over well. ;) Come out and see the show, FREE with super-cheap drinks. 8-11p, don't forget!

Hair Cravings: NETTED BUNS

...or whatever I should call them. But really, I have loved this look for a loooooong time...with the right setup, at least. Be they smoothed piece or spiral topper, I love the retro look of net over hair. Here are some spiral examples from Italian Vogue:
And online:

And in the other camp, here are smoothed buns, easy to just pin in and go, I'd imagine:

LOVE the use of color on those last 3. :) But those kinds of buns are so hard to find!!
Anyway, in trying to keep up with semi-regular posts on this thing, I thought I'd stick with my current theme and share a little bit of the pictures in the many folders of research on my computer. So that's what's on my mind tonight!
